At Coalville, we assess and recondition the vehicles that come back to us after being leased on the Motability Scheme, so they’re ready to resell. The 22-acre facility will allow us to prepare up to 25,000 vehicles a year to sell through our remarketing business, mfldirect, meaning we can generate revenue for the Scheme, allowing us to continue to deliver value and affordability for our customers.
Our team there have been working hard to expand our capacity and at just over six months into the journey, we have already processed over 13,500 vehicles on site.
Theo Kortland, Managing Director Vehicle Solutions, commented:
"Up until recently the Coalville site had been operated by a different organisation; however, with the high volume of vehicles processed through the site, it’s paramount that we manage and control crucial processes like vehicle inspection, adaptation removal and final quality control checks ourselves, to ensure all vehicles meet our high-quality standards. In addition, I’m pleased to confirm we successfully transferred across a team of people from the existing company, to join us at Motability Operations and we are looking forward to the next phase of the journey with them”
The investment in Coalville marks an ongoing commitment to a five-year vision, with customers sitting right at the heart of mfldirect’s plans to become the easiest-to-use supplier of wholesale vehicles at scale.
