Motability Operations, the UK's largest car fleet and the company which delivers the life changing Motability Scheme, today announced the appointment of Andy Broadfield as Managing Director of Electric & Insurance. In this newly created role, Broadfield will spearhead the company's electrification strategy and drive enhancements to the customer insurance experience.
With the auto industry shifting to electric, Broadfield brings extensive experience in innovation and start-up development within corporate environments, coupled with a deep understanding of electric vehicles (EVs) and a passion for customer-centric solutions. He joins Motability Operations from Direct Line Group (DLG), where he played a key role in the Insurance Transition Programme from RSA, gaining valuable insights into the company's operations.
Andrew Miller, CEO of Motability Operations, commented:
"We are thrilled to welcome Andy to the Motability Operations team. His rich background in innovation and EV expertise, coupled with his comprehensive understanding of our insurance operations will be invaluable as we continue to evolve our services.
“Andy's leadership will undoubtedly enhance our continued commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences and sustainable solutions."
In his new role, Broadfield will oversee the areas focused on innovating for customers, concentrating on enhancing the company's electric offering for the future. This will include developing the Scheme’s lease model as the company’s EV fleet grows, ensuring customers continue to get the best possible experience in a volatile market.
"I am really excited to join Motability Operations at such a pivotal time in the automotive industry," said Andy Broadfield. "It’s a privilege to work with such a talented team to build upon the company's strong foundation. Working with the many Electric Vehicle industry pioneers, we will deliver innovative solutions to make electric vehicles more accessible and affordable for our customers."
In addition to his responsibilities in electrification, Broadfield will also lead the company's insurance operations, focusing on improving the customer experience whilst maintaining the exceptional value the current leases offer.
Tim Harris, who has been overseeing insurance on a part-time basis, will transition to a new role as Chair of the company's insurance business, providing oversight of both DLG and Isle of Man operations.
