The Motability Scheme is hosting a series of free EV Experience Days – launching at the Arnold Clark Innovation Centre in Stafford on Thursday 9 May.
There are over 70,000 Motability Scheme customers currently based in the West Midlands, and Stafford’s EV Experience Day will give local customers a chance to learn everything they need to know about electric vehicles (EVs) in person.
The auto industry is shifting, and manufacturers are focussing on producing more and more EVs. Motability Operations, the organisation which delivers the Motability Scheme wants to ensure customers can stay connected to their local communities through their Scheme vehicles, so is offering attendees the chance to book a slot in the driver’s seat and test drive an EV for themselves.
Experts will also be available to answer common questions on charging and range to help customers find an EV to suit their lifestyle.
Though free to attend, test drives must be booked in advance via Eventbrite. Visitors will need to hold a full UK driving licence to take a test drive and will need to bring this on the day.
Ashleigh Evans, Events Manager at Motability Operations, said:
“We can see first-hand that the industry is changing, and petrol and diesel cars are becoming more expensive with less choices available. The country is quickly moving to greener vehicles, and we want to make sure our 750,000 customers are not left behind.
“By hosting our EV Experience Days, we hope our customers will feel more confident and knowledgeable around EVs and can really see if this is something that can work for them now or in the coming years.
“The EV Experience Days have been designed to help educate and inform Scheme customers and eligible disabled people so they can make the right choice for them when choosing their next Scheme vehicle.”
