Motability Scheme Live showcases what is available on the Motability Scheme for new, existing, and potential customers. The event, formerly known as The Big Event and One Big Day, will take place from 9 am – 4 pm on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 of May at Birmingham’s NEC. No booking is needed.
The Motability Scheme provides disabled people in the UK with the independence to access work, education and healthcare. People receiving a qualifying disability allowance can choose a good value, accessible vehicle through the Scheme.
Visitors at the event will be able to see a variety of standard, adapted, and electric vehicles, as well as a range of scooters and powered wheelchairs.
Information and guidance will also be available about the Motability Scheme and the latest mobility technology.
The Motability Foundation will be present along with organisations like Rough Guide and Driving Mobility. Additionally, Scheme partners Kwik Fit, the RAC, and Direct Line Mobility will be in attendance alongside EV specialists to provide advice.
People can sign up to learn more about Motability Scheme Live, including event FAQs, at motabilityschemelive.co.uk.
Lisa Thomas, Chief Marketing Officer at Motability Operations, said:
“We hear from attendees year after year about how valuable they find these events. Whether you are a longstanding customer or a disabled person considering their mobility options, everyone is welcome to attend to build their knowledge about how the Motability Scheme can connect them to freedom and independence.”
Accessibility first
The events are accessible and inclusive for all visitors. Facilities include a quiet room, ear defenders, pre-bookable BSL interpreters, accessible toilets, and a High Dependency Unit. Assistance dogs are also welcome, and accessible parking is available at each venue.
