The Motability Scheme rings in the new year, with an even greater choice of affordable electric vehicles: Motability Scheme price list image

With more long-range and affordable EVs on the latest price list, Motability Operations has made it easier for customers to move to an EV as the automotive industry moves to electric.

2 January 2024 – Motability Operations, the company behind the Motability Scheme, is continuing with its pledge to ensure no one is left behind in the transition to electric.

As the automotive industry shifts its production lines, and the availability of new petrol and diesel cars decreases rapidly, the organisation is acting now to make EVs more affordable for its 700,000 customers.

The latest quarterly price list features more than 180 EV options and many EV models with lower Advance Payments than last quarter, and a larger choice of long-range models, so customers can travel further for less. Customers can also use the £750 New Vehicle Payment towards their Advance Payment on their new car, and the organisation has just extended this offer for customers who join the Scheme during 2024.

EV highlights on the January – March 2024 price list, include:

Customers choosing an EV will also benefit from the Scheme’s worry-free leasing package. Support with charging is also included – the company will arrange and cover the cost of a home chargepoint and standard installation, or give customers access to a subscription on the bp pulse network.

Andrew Miller, chief executive of Motability Operations, said: “We know the Motability Scheme is life-changing and over 700,000 disabled people and their families rely on it to stay mobile. That’s why it’s so important we support our customers as the industry moves to electric, making sure there are vehicles available that suit their needs.

“We know that cost and range anxiety are two of the biggest barriers to electric for our customers and I’m proud that we now have even more affordable and longer-range options available for those that are ready to make the switch.

“Our customers also tell us that public infrastructure is often inaccessible and nearly half of them don’t have off-street parking and can’t charge at home. So, there’s still more to do, and we’ll continue to work with industry and partners to address challenges and find solutions.

“We already have the biggest EV fleet in the UK and have supported more than 38,000 of our customers to make the switch to electric motoring. We’re leading the way and our unique customer insight means we can continue to drive a transition to electric that truly works for everyone.”

For Motability Scheme customers who are not ready to make the switch to electric just yet the organisation’s new price list, also features a range of affordable petrol, diesel and hybrid cars. Many of these vehicles are available with no Advance Payment or an Advance Payment of £500 or less, demonstrating that the Motability Scheme remains great value for all its customers. Some of the options include:

Since we began running the Motability Scheme 45 years ago, we have helped more than 5 million people get moving. People who receive higher or enhanced mobility allowance can join the scheme. Our scale and relationship with manufacturers makes sure we provide the very best technology and design.

Customers lease their vehicle for 3-5 years in a worry-free package that includes insurance, servicing, tyres and breakdown cover. At the end of the lease they can choose a brand-new vehicle and we remarket their old vehicle at the best possible price. We are the largest supplier of used cars in the UK.

We don’t pay shareholder dividends and the money we make is invested back into benefitting our customers and disabled mobility.

We pride ourselves on knowing and understanding our customers and have expectational customer service at the heart of everything we do. We have an average of 9.6/10 customer satisfaction rating.
