2 January 2024 – Motability Operations, the company behind the Motability Scheme, is continuing with its pledge to ensure no one is left behind in the transition to electric.
As the automotive industry shifts its production lines, and the availability of new petrol and diesel cars decreases rapidly, the organisation is acting now to make EVs more affordable for its 700,000 customers.
The latest quarterly price list features more than 180 EV options and many EV models with lower Advance Payments than last quarter, and a larger choice of long-range models, so customers can travel further for less. Customers can also use the £750 New Vehicle Payment towards their Advance Payment on their new car, and the organisation has just extended this offer for customers who join the Scheme during 2024.
EV highlights on the January – March 2024 price list, include:
- No Advance Payment: PEUGEOT 2008 115kW GT 54kWh 5dr Auto
- No Advance Payment: Vauxhall Mokka 100kW GS 50kWh 5dr Auto
- No Advance Payment: BYD Atto 3 150kW Design 60kWh 5dr Auto Hatchback
- From £299 Advance Payment: Hyundai KONA 160kW Advance 65kWh 5dr Auto Hatchback
- From £495 Advance Payment: Toyota BZ4X 150kW Motion 71.4kWh 5dr Auto [11kW]
Customers choosing an EV will also benefit from the Scheme’s worry-free leasing package. Support with charging is also included – the company will arrange and cover the cost of a home chargepoint and standard installation, or give customers access to a subscription on the bp pulse network.
Andrew Miller, chief executive of Motability Operations, said: “We know the Motability Scheme is life-changing and over 700,000 disabled people and their families rely on it to stay mobile. That’s why it’s so important we support our customers as the industry moves to electric, making sure there are vehicles available that suit their needs.
“We know that cost and range anxiety are two of the biggest barriers to electric for our customers and I’m proud that we now have even more affordable and longer-range options available for those that are ready to make the switch.
“Our customers also tell us that public infrastructure is often inaccessible and nearly half of them don’t have off-street parking and can’t charge at home. So, there’s still more to do, and we’ll continue to work with industry and partners to address challenges and find solutions.
“We already have the biggest EV fleet in the UK and have supported more than 38,000 of our customers to make the switch to electric motoring. We’re leading the way and our unique customer insight means we can continue to drive a transition to electric that truly works for everyone.”
For Motability Scheme customers who are not ready to make the switch to electric just yet the organisation’s new price list, also features a range of affordable petrol, diesel and hybrid cars. Many of these vehicles are available with no Advance Payment or an Advance Payment of £500 or less, demonstrating that the Motability Scheme remains great value for all its customers.
